I couldn’t understand the decision to “birdnest” rather than sell the house. Their disdain for the “studio” flat they share, an ex-local authority place with a drippy tap and non-fancy curtains that is far nicer than at least 70% of the flats I lived in in London, is hilarious. Elsewhere, co-star Middleton described working on the ITV offering as a “fantastic opportunity,” adding that her character’s “immense relatability” is what first drew her to the role. “It’s a story where you catch a glimpse of yourself in the characters, and you get the chilling realisation that what happens to Fi could happen to anyone,” she explained.

Grief is a Natural Reaction to Death

As mentioned, Our House is based on the best-selling novel by Louise Candlish of the same name and given the award-winning bestseller’s popularity, the series is expected to be similarly gripping. The plot centres on Fiona Lawson (Middleton), who arrives back to her home in London to find strangers moving in and her belongings no longer there. Per ITV’s synopsis, at first she thinks her home was sold by accident, but upon discovering her husband Bram has gone missing, she soon realised there’s much more going on. Told in a series of flashbacks, Our House is a story of betrayal and mystery and may just have you questioning your own memories. Based on Louise Candlish's popular novel, ITV’s new thriller Our House is set to have audiences on the edge of their seats.

Our House (American TV series)

It’s the kind of song that gets stuck in your head, because the first time you hear it, you feel as if you’ve heard it a hundred times before. Fi walks around her empty former home repeating “This is my house”, and, given that I watched every single episode of the surprise BBC gameshow hit of that name, I couldn’t help but start to sing its theme tune. Billed as an "edge of your seat thriller", Our House sees a woman arrive home one day only to find strangers have moved in... Following the death of his son, Gus Witherspoon takes in his daughter-in-law and his three grandchildren to live with him. Adjustment to the new arrangement is not easy on any of them.Following the death of his son, Gus Witherspoon takes in his daughter-in-law and his three grandchildren to live with him.

But, for now, at least, we’ll just have to sit back and wait for an official announcement. Per Radio Times, Compston previously revealed that he is “absolutely delighted” to be appearing in the forthcoming drama. “The scripts are genuinely thrilling, packed with twists and turns that kept me guessing until the end,” the actor commented. David started out as a writer for TV Times before becoming the title's deputy features editor and then features editor. During his time on TV Times, David also helped run the annual TV Times Awards. David is a huge Death in Paradise fan, although he's still failed to solve a case before the show's detective!

Before working for What To Watch, David spent many years working for TV Times magazine, interviewing some of television's most famous stars including Hollywood actor Kiefer Sutherland, singer Lionel Richie and wildlife legend Sir David Attenborough. As we flashback in time to see scenes of Fi and Bram together, she starts to unpick her life and discover Bram’s hidden past... Events then quickly spiral out of control, as a string of secrets is unearthed. The book Our House became an international bestseller and the television adaptation promises to be just as gripping. Our House, featuring an all-star cast including Line of Duty’s Martin Compston, is a big new drama based on the hit book by Louise Candlish.

“This is not an intimate relationship, it’s a practical arrangement,” says the woman tasked with drawing up a contract for them. The same could be said of this first episode, which is so level-headed it’s crying out for the jolt of energy that comes towards the end, when hints of a greater deception finally, finally start to emerge. A young genius accidentally invents a device that amplifies the paranormal activity within his family's house, possibly bringing back the spirits of loved ones, and unleashing things far wor...

Over the years, they have children, paint the walls dark blue, put in parquet flooring and big glass sliding doors – then they stop tickling each other. The relationship finally falls apart when Fi comes home one night to catch Bram getting up to some excessively neighbourly behaviour in the shed. It’s a good question, but one the opening episode doesn’t really try to answer. Instead, this four-parter, an adaptation of Louise Candlish’s 2018 novel, is standard ITV thriller territory, perfectly watchable, basically functional, if not particularly fresh.

To keep the OUR HOUSE community safe, campers and guardians are advised to stay home, rest, and recuperate if experiencing symptoms of illness before camp begins. Add it to your Watchlist to receive updates and availability notifications. Each of the episode's five acts (before the commercial break) ends with a freeze frame shot which then occupies one of several rooms in an abstract rendering of a house figure. As the episode unfolds, more rooms are filled until finally—when the dilemma has been resolved—the final piece is put in place, completing the house. Fi must face losing the house, turning to Toby for support--but he has secrets of his own.

Jessie and the kids eventually learn that beneath Gus' stern facade is a wise man, well versed in the ways of the world, who cares about them very much. But there wouldn’t be a drama if they had sold up and moved on peacefully, accepting that their relationship had run its course. And maybe the mysterious grandeur of the house will be explained in the episodes to come. There is an intriguing trail of breadcrumbs that hints at Bram’s ability to keep secrets. There are small fibs everywhere, and then, just when it appears to be a domestic drama with a property-porn twist, a bigger one explodes on to the screen.

The OUR HOUSE mission is to provide the community with grief support services, education, resources, and hope. Since 1993, OUR HOUSE has helped thousands of grieving children, teens, and adults as they embark upon their journeys to hope and healing. Join us this summer at Camp Erin LA, a free camp experience for children & teens who are grieving the death of someone significant/close. Camp Erin combines traditional camp experiences with grief support activities to provide a day of hope and healing. Under the guidance of grief professionals, kids learn that their feelings are normal – and that by talking about them they can begin to heal.

Camp volunteers are extraordinary people who make a big difference in the lives of grieving children. OUR HOUSE is able to serve hundreds of campers every year thanks to the dedication and generous hearts of our camp volunteers. We flash back to 10 years earlier, when Fi and her husband, Bram (Martin Compston), come across the house they will turn into a World of Interiors magazine spread. They are so happy and in love that they tickle each other as they strip wallpaper. The house is huge and incredible, and appears to be in London, which made me spend far more time than I should have wondering how they could have afforded it. They both have generic middle-class jobs, in offices with lumbar support chairs and big glass windows, but, even so, that house must have cost a fortune.
